Design and Game-Approaches for Entrepreneurship
This project is the result of a partnership between IADE - Universidade Europeia and the Universidade de Aveiro. It aims to leverage the use of game approaches in education, particularly in the teaching of entrepreneurship and innovation, which is becoming increasingly significant. Research about the best practices that allow the most appropriate tools to be used to develop skills will lead to the development of a toolkit that can better support educators and practitioners in their entrepreneurship teaching efforts.

This project aims to design the user’s journey macro experience as well as the contact points micro experiences in regard to maternity care, considering all the surroundings, people, places, objects, rules, relationships, and blocks, offering more humane care. The researchers involved seek to leverage women's health care to another dimension, with the expectation that it will have a positive impact on the experience of users (pregnant women, babies, and families) during pregnancy and childbirth, and on health care professionals. To this end, the project will adopt participatory design practices, involving pregnant women and other stakeholders in the process from the initial stages to the solution.

Support Local Business Through Design
This project aimed to find new solutions to support the recovery of local businesses during and after COVID-19, through the application of Strategic Design methodologies and tools. To support local and small businesses (e.g. restaurants, cultural events and gyms, among others) more vulnerable and exposed to this current situation, Strategic Design and Innovation Lab (SDI.Lab) launched an innovation project aiming to develop viable solutions for the immediate future of these businesses. This was a rapid response from Academia that gathered significant support from students, innovation & design professionals and small business owners (over one hundred people) to create solutions, within the shortest possible time. The main goal of this pro-bono project was to create concepts of new products, services and business models that can be offered to small businesses to support their ability to recover and respond to the uncertainties of the post- covid19 economic reality.
